So many times we get the idea that it’s the missionary’s or the preacher’s job to be the person to witness, pass out Gospel literature, or lead someone to Christ.
However the Bible admonishes us in I Peter 3:15 to:
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” 1Pet.3:15
We are all commanded of God to “…be ready always to give an answer to every man…”
We need to note that this is done by following the previous statement to “…sanctify the Lord God in your hearts…” When we place God in His rightful place in our hearts, then our actions will follow suit to what His will is.
So if a missionary, by definition, is someone who surrenders to go and tell someone the Gospel message so that they may be saved, then we are all missionaries.
If a missionary, by definition, is someone who sacrifices his life for the purpose of spreading the Good News, then we are all to be missionaries. For the Word of God commands us all to “… be ready always…”
If for some reason a person does not have that desire, the question may be asked does that individual who has not desire to tell others really have “… the hope that is in you…”
Let us all determine that “… with meekness and fear.” We strive to tell someone of what God has done in and for our lives.
